Tixel – Thermal Fractional Skin Rejuvenation
Tixel® is a skin rejuvenating treatment that harnesses thermal energy to reduce lines, wrinkles and scarring, aids skin tightening particularly around the neck and is also effective at reducing open pores. Uniquely it is able treating the delicate skin around the eye up to the lash line. Crows feet can be greatly minimised and upper eyelid lifted. The net effect is a complexion that is smoother, brighter and firmer.
Tixel® has an additional application whereby topical products can be delivered to the deeper skin layers, particularly effective for reducing and treating pigmentation.
While a significant difference maybe visible after 1 treatment, 3 treatments are recommended. These may be either every eight weeks for full skin ablation or every four weeks for the non-ablative delivery of the product to the skin. Compared with other skin resurfacing traditional treatments Tixel® has the advantage of decreased downtime and reduced treatment discomfort whilst still offering superb results with the added benefit of treating the skin around the eyes.
Immediately after an ablative treatment the skin will appear red and for the first few hours will feel warm. Some erythema (redness) may be visible for 2-3 days. Light make-up can be worn after 48 hours. Dryness is usual for the first 2-5 days with the skin appearing “normal” by day 7. For non-ablative treatments downtime can be less than 24hrs.
